Two new business are increasing the already bountiful local Ninth Island spirit, this time in Henderson. Counter service venture HI Coffee Cafe is now “Brewing Aloha” at the Mahacamu Marketplace retail center, not far from the intersection of Stephanie St.and Paseo Verde Pkwy. On the hot and cold beverage menu, teas, espresso, “100% Kona coffee” and specialty lattes like their “almond joy,” “snicker doodle” and coconut Haupia.

They are also offering a variety of pastry items that have recently included Haupia cream cheese bars, scones, muffins and butter mochi.

And if you are in the mood for proteins, less than half a mile away at the Stephanie Beltway Plaza, Poke Express has expanded from their North Las Vegas origins. Although they have been open for a number of weeks, a “Grand Opening” celebration will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5., at 19 S. Stephanie St., Suite 140.

Poke Express

Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Poke Express serves poke bowls, filled with one or two scoops from their wide selection of flavors. Guests can also add a scoop of rice for .75 cents and their poke selections can be bought by the pound to take home. Choices include kimchee shrimp, garlic ahi, ahi limu, tako poke with shoyu, salmon poke or just simple ahi cubes. They also import a selection of popular Hawaiian grocery items.
